Description: This layer contains established trails in Alaska State Parks. The trail data was compiled by the Trails Inventory Project, Alaska State Trails Program, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation (DPOR). Data was collected by DPOR staff using mapping grade GPS receivers between 2007 and 2015. Much of the funding came from the Recreational Trails Program (RTP). New trails may have been constructed and trails may have been re-routed, changed, or closed since the data was compiled. Please send us feedback if a trail is missing from the data or if a trail is impassable, re-routed, or closed. Regulations, orders closing or opening trails, and DPOR signs closing a trail or prohibiting a particular activity take precedence over information about trail status or activities provided here.
